Georgia's Leading Laparoscopic and Robotic Specialists

A little more than a decade ago, if you were diagnosed with a urologic cancer or disease, you had few choices when it came to surgery. More recently, minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery, performed through small incisions, has provided more options. Robotic technology has revolutionized these surgeries. Patients recover more quickly, have shorter hospital stays, and return to normal activities sooner than after traditional open surgery.

Georgia Urology is the Foremost Group in Georgia

The laparoscopic and robotic surgeons at Georgia Urology are the foremost group in the state of Georgia. Georgia Urology has the largest number of surgeons who specialize in performing laparoscopic and robotic procedures to treat a wide scope of bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers and diseases.

Our surgeons use state-of-the-art robotic technology for a more precise surgical technique. The robot offers better visibility and exact surgical techniques by translating the surgeon's hand movements into precise micro movements. Robotic procedures are offered at many Georgia Urology locations in the Atlanta metro area where our surgeons operate.

Experienced Leaders in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery

Our surgeons were the first in Georgia to perform a laparoscopic nephrectomy (kidney removal surgery) for cancer in 1995, a laparoscopic prostatectomy (prostate removal) in 2000, a robotic prostatectomy in 2003, and a robotic partial nephrectomy in 2009. Georgia Urology also has the largest number of experienced surgeons who perform laparoscopic and robotic procedures in the state of Georgia. Using the most advanced techniques and state-of-the-art technology, our surgeons have performed over 1,500 robotic procedures at many hospitals. The patients have experienced less blood loss and often less pain and faster recovery times with fewer complications. In fact, studies show that robotic surgery has been the first treatment choice of patients with prostate cancer.
