What Is Testicular (FNA) Mapping?
Testicular Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) or Mapping is a less invasive diagnostic procedure designed to locate areas within the testes that produce sperm. Developed by Dr. Paul J. Turek, this minimally invasive procedure involves sampling a dozen regions of the testicle using fine needles to create a “map” of sperm production. This assists the urologic surgeon in identifying specific areas where sperm are present, which is crucial for guiding sperm retrieval procedures for assisted reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization (IVF).
