For nine years Georgia Urology has been a proud sponsor for F.A.S.T. PACE RACE presented by the Forsyth Area Striders Team (F.A.S.T) and the Prostate Condition Education Council (PCEC). Hundreds of people run every year to raise awareness for prostate cancer by participating in the half marathon, 5k, 10k, and 1m courses. This year, participants took on these courses and more, in addition to meeting Bart Yasso, founder of the groundbreaking Runner’s World Race Sponsorship Program.
On top of sponsoring this important event, Georgia Urology was proud to offer free PSA screenings and prostate exams from our team to a total of 25 men on race day. The number one way to prevent prostate cancer is by staying proactive in yearly exams.
One in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and 26,730 men will die from prostate cancer this year alone. It’s one of the leading causes of death in men, claiming the lives of every one man in 39. With this in mind, the Georgia Urology team works hard, inside the doctors offices and out, to lower the number of lives affected by prostate cancer.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in this year’s race! Please enjoy the photos captured from this incredible event.
