Ayodeji Sotimehin, MD

Dr. Ayodeji Sotimehin is a recent graduate of the Cleveland Clinic Urology Residency, where he completed a comprehensive six-year training program and served as chief resident in his final year. He will be joining Georgia Urology in Atlanta as an Associate Physician in August 2025.

Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Sotimehin earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry with a minor in Visual Arts from Emory University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and on the Dean’s List all four years. He received his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he was awarded several distinctions, including the Levi Watkins Jr. Scholarship, the Dean’s Year of Research Fellowship, and the Persky Urological Research Scholar Award.

Dr. Sotimehin’s research spans a diverse array of topics in both clinical and translational science, including kidney cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, priapism in sickle cell disease, and nerve regeneration for stress urinary incontinence. His work has been published in high-impact journals such as The Journal of Urology and Sexual Medicine. He has presented his findings nationally at conferences, including AUA and SUFU.

Throughout his training, Dr. Sotimehin has received multiple honors, including the SUFU Resident Travel Award and being featured in the AUA’s Black Pioneers in Urology documentary in 2023.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Sotimehin is a passionate advocate for diversity in urology through organizations like Urology Unbound. He is also an accomplished visual artist and avid outdoorsman who enjoys tennis, pickleball, cooking, kayaking, and playing the ukulele.
