Cameron J. Hinkel, M.D.

Dr. Cameron J. Hinkel is a pediatric urology fellow with Georgia Urology and Emory University/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Before entering medical school, he worked in medical imaging research collaborations at Siemens Healthcare. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2017. He excelled academically and used his engineering and imaging background to conduct translational research and design novel laboratory equipment. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency training at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, where his passion for pediatric urology blossomed. His academic work with a surgical training model for minimally invasive bladder surgery in pediatrics earned recognition at the AUA Western Section annual meeting. He is thrilled to be pursuing subspecialty training in Georgia and exploring new opportunities for surgical innovation.

In his free time, Dr. Hinkel enjoys traveling and discovering new foods with his wife. At home he’s usually tinkering with hobbies that utilize creativity and problem solving, or enjoying his lifelong love playing music and singing.
