Dr. Robert Esposito is an interventional radiologist with specialized training in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. He brings a strong focus on embolization therapies and advanced vascular interventions to IR Centers at Georgia Urology.
Dr. Esposito completed his Integrated Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of Iowa Health Care, where he served as Chief Resident. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
A passionate advocate for innovation, Dr. Esposito has been actively involved in research. His work in interventional oncology, novel embolization techniques, and radiology education has been featured at major conferences, including SIR, CIRSE, and SIO, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Notable contributions include studies on immunoembolization for metastatic ocular melanoma and new approaches to cholecystostomy tube management.
In addition to his clinical and research achievements, Dr. Esposito has lectured extensively on interventional radiology topics and led initiatives to enhance residency training and physician wellness.
An active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America, Dr. Esposito is known for his patient-centered approach, technical expertise, and commitment to advancing the field. His addition to IR Centers at Georgia Urology represents a continued investment in high-quality, innovative care for patients across the Atlanta region.
Dr. Esposito’s calling to medicine came from his desire to help people in need. He is excited to bring evolving minimally invasive procedures to the patients of IR Centers at Georgia Urology.
When he is not working, Dr. Esposito enjoys almost any outdoor activity, including running, biking, golfing, attending sports events, or simply going on a walk with his wife and dog.
