Shannon Suarez, MSN, APRN, CPNP
Shannon Suarez grew up in Miami, Florida, where she attended Florida International University for her Bachelor of Arts and her Bachelor of Science in nursing. Following this, she received her masters of science in nursing, also at Florida International University. Her past experience includes many years of being a pediatric registered nurse at places like Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Camp Emerson.
“I love getting an opportunity to interact with children and getting to see them over time,” Shannon said. “Rarely do I see them [only] once, and I love that because I get to build relationships with them and the caretakers they come with. Above all, I love getting to see them work past issues that can really harm their self-confidence. It’s wonderful seeing them blossom after I find what’s beneficial for them.”
Shannon’s focuses include urodynamic studies with fluoroscopy, pelvic floor therapy utilizing biofeedback, electromyography uroflow, ultrasonographic bladder scanning, and care of pediatric patients experiencing primary urologic symptoms and conditions.
Outside of the office, Shannon loves to travel with her husband and three daughters. They specifically enjoy exploring Georgia, going on hikes, and they will never turn down the chance to watch Miami Hurricane football.
Shannon is a nurse practitioner at Georgia Urology’s HAWK (Help Awaiting Wet Kids) Center — a pediatric center providing specialized care for children with wetting issues and other forms of abnormal urination (voiding or dysfunction). Learn more about the HAWK Center.
