I have to question how my referral from Dr. Paul Ellis could have been handled better. I had a physical on 12/12 and had blood work, a blood pressure test, and a rectal exam. All of this work was repeated 12 days later with Dr. Mellis. I am not a medical professional but I wonder if there is a way to not replicate everything.

I like Dr Mellis. My problem lies with the administrative or nursing person who calls with test results. She is very bland and doesn’t seem to have any answers to my questions. I had to request that she ask the Dr for answers and call me back. Even then I didn’t feel satisfied. I have also experienced issues with whoever schedules tests like the CT Scan that wasn’t ordered until I called to remind them a week later. Also on the ultrasound I recently had, we agreed on the phone on the test date. When I got there, the order wasn’t there and when the hospital called to get it, it said I shouldn’t have the test for another week vs the day we agreed on. Another week would have been AFTER my scheduled follow-up Dr appointment to discuss the test results. Then she called with the ultra sound results and said I didn’t need to keep my follow up appointment, but I did anyway because of questions she couldn’t answer. My questions are important to me. Glad I kept the appointment.

My experiences with Dr. Mellis and staff have all been very positive. From arrival at reception to check out, the staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The technicians are informative and helpful . Dr. Mellis is very easy to talk to and keeps me well informed. The appointments have been on time with little waiting. There's not too much more I can ask for. Five stars!

Dr Mellis did an excellent job on my tricky lymph node removal surgery. The support team were all professional, well trained, conscientious, and caring.

My only issue is that is difficult to get to speak to someone in the office directly. After being released from the hospital I needed a follow-up visit with my doctor. I called the appointment line and I was bounced around to 3 different people before I got to the right office and the person who could help me. They needed to fit me into the schedule . After being discharged from the hospital - it should be easier to get a follow-up directly with the office instead of having to call the appointment line which can not do this. Also leaving messages for the doctor/nurse either by phone or the portal seem to go unanswered too long compared to other practices I deal with.

The total appointment experience was terrific. The total from park to exit was less than 25 minutes. From reception to payment everyone was friendly and professional. Thanks to all!

I found Dr. Mellis randomly through Ga Urology. Originally I was concerned because he was young. After reading an article about him having done over 100 robotic surgeries I decided to make an appointment. Dr. Mellis is very thorough and caring, he takes the time to answer all your questions and make you feel comfortable. Wait times are very reasonable as well. I can't recommend him enough as a surgeon.
