Dr. Adam Mellis continues using state-of-the-art tech for urological cancer procedures

Representatives of Georgia Urology, the largest urology practice in the Southeast, are proud to congratulate Dr. Adam Mellis for completing his 100th robotic surgery. As part of Georgia Urology’s roster of board-certified physicians, Dr. Mellis treats urological cancers with the latest technology.

“It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to change and save lives through urological cancer surgery,” says Dr. Mellis, “and to have access to such groundbreaking tools.”

Dr. Mellis and other Georgia Urology surgeons use state-of-the-art robotic technology for an incredibly precise surgical technique. The use of the da Vinci© Surgical System with its three-dimensional, wristed instrumentation, offers excellent visibility and accuracy by translating the operating urologist’s hand movements into precise micro movements.

“Robotic surgery provides an unparalleled level of veracity,” explains Dr. Mellis, “which results in more efficient and effective procedures.”

Dr. Mellis was first drawn to robotic surgery in medical school. He received his Doctor of Medicine at Louisiana State University College of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He completed his Surgical Internship and Urology Residency at the University of Oklahoma where he also completed his Fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery.
