One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and more than 33,000 men will die from the disease this year.
Because of these staggering statistics, Georgia Urology partnered with Forsyth Area Striders Team and the Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC) in 2009 and brought the PACE Race Run/Walk Series to the Atlanta area with the goal of increasing awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health issues.
Race proceed are used locally to offer free or low-cost prostate cancer screenings as well as to educate men, the women in their lives, and the medical community, about the prevalence of prostate cancer; the importance of early detection; and available treatment options.
